“Immerse in the peace of nature, comfort and yoga in the mountains of Southern Spain.”
Take the gift of relaxation on our nature and hiking yoga retreat. Where the Parque Natural of the Sierra de Grazalema rises from quiet rural byways like an apparition and the natural world takes over, find yourself enticed into wellbeing. Where great buttresses of rock silhouetted against the clouds soar above a forested landscape tinged with green, feel the vitality of this area even when the rest of Andalucía turns yellow under the Spanish sun. Deemed a Unesco Biosphere reserve since 1977 this land is one of the best places to hike in Southern Spain.
The Sierra de Grazalema and whitewashed villages serve as the gateways to our Yoga Retreat Center which hosts some of Spain's prettiest mountain scenery. Our retreat center is settle in this picturesque land of diverse terrain with its narrow passes connecting the villages over high mountain ridges.
Being between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, this dynamic area is home to unique plants and animals and has a slightly tropical microclimate. On the same day there can be warm sunshine, clouds or rain and directly a return to warm sunshine. From fascinating historical stories of the surrounding whitewashed villages to Neolithic tombs, a visitor to this province can do yoga in the morning, explore serene hiking trails, cool off in one of the five outdoor swimming pools with views of the Sierra, taste local foods and finally sleep with the silence of the mountain.
The accommodations are rooms in villas with views of the mountain, air conditioners and heaters and there is wifi inside the buildings.
If you're looking for a mountain and yoga vacation, this is the place for you!

THE NATURE
The villas, gardens, walking paths, and swimming pools that make up the Nature Reserve yoga retreat center are nestled under an escarpment and have a panoramic view of the Sierra Grazalema mountains. Fresh clean mountain air fills a visitor's lungs with every breath. The Andalusian sunlight illuminates the natural landscape and olive trees that dot the mountain side. One can hear the soft chirping of birds and the occasional bleat of goats and sheep that roam the lands outside of retreat center. Just being in this place of stillness brings a sense of peace and wellbeing like no other.
The hiking tour takes yoga retreat participants around the mountain, to familiarize with the location and gain a sense of place. With explanations of the land, the animals and a bit of history, we’re reminded of the everlasting health of a region where people have resided for thousands of years.
WHITEWASHED VILLAGES
The Whitewashed villages of the Serranía de Cadiz sparkle under the sunlight of the lengthy days. Brimming with history and stories of when the Arabs built the villages and inhabited the area up until around the 8th century, each one has its own feel.
Explore the architecturally fascinating city of Ronda with its stunning cliffside location and deep canyons. Visit the Puente Nuevo, gazing over the precipice’s edge. Known to be the birthplace of bullfighting in Spain, visit Ronda's bullring museum and learn about the history. Explore the winding streets walking down through the impressive gorge to visit the ruins of the Arab baths from Moorish life during the 13th to the 16th century in Spain. Taste local products like the award-winning Payoyo goat cheese, wine, and jamón.

CHRISSY CHELINSKI
Hi, I’m Chrissy, a Dru Yoga Teacher, Chakradance Facilitator, Yin Yoga and Gentle Somatic Yoga Teacher. I’m also trained in Nada Yoga (the Yoga of Sound) and in Yoga Nidra and love to weave these beautiful practices together to create a nourishing and inspiring space for students with a healing soundscape of beautiful vibrations from a range of musical instruments.Taking time out to pause with peaceful yoga nidra practice is refreshing and restoring - a beautiful act of self care that enables us to move back into the world with more ease and centeredness.
After many years of Yoga practice, I qualified in Dru Yoga in 2008 after being so inspired by its flowing, compassionate and accessible style which enables everyone to practice and benefit from Yoga equally and without discrimination whatever age or body shape/size and level of mobility. This heart centred Dru approach , has formed the foundations on which I’ve grown ,both in my own Yoga and Buddhist practice and in teaching the community of students who’ve practiced with me over the years in my classes, workshops or on retreats and at Yoga festivals both locally in the UK and internationally ( I have led a Yoga Journey in Bhutan and Nepal and have taught Yoga while volunteering in Kenya) . It’s been a wonderful journey of discovery through yoga so far .
Chakradance is an amazing moving meditation, a free form dance journey through the Chakra system combining beautifully the two paths of Yoga and Dance . Its energising ,even transformational, and brilliant to share. I am also an Usui Reiki Level 2 healer and trained in Emotional Freedom Technique. I am a Trauma trained practitioner and everything that I offer to people attending is an invitation and that they are welcome just as they are at all times , however things are for them personally . All can be and will be adapted to enable those attending to feel at ease in my classes.
I live in Yorkshire , UK , with my husband and am a Mum of two wonderful adult daughters . I work part -time as a Mental Health Social Worker and also enjoy dancing ,walking in wild nature , forest bathing and can often be found wild swimming in my local river . I love the sea and water in all its forms !
